Scale
For the Turnovers:
- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
- 3 cups Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples (peeled and diced)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- 2. In a bowl, combine diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss until well-coated.
- 3. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into squares approximately 4 inches per side.
- 4. Spoon the apple mixture onto one half of each pastry square while leaving space at the edges.
- 5. Fold each square over to form a triangle and seal the edges by pressing down with your fingers or using a fork.
- 6. Brush each turnover with the beaten egg for a golden finish. Place on a lined baking sheet.
- 7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
- 8. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.
