Description

Apple turnovers are a warm, flaky delight filled with sweet, spiced apples—perfect for any occasion and incredibly easy to make!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Turnovers:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 3 cups Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples (peeled and diced)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. 2. In a bowl, combine diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss until well-coated.
  3. 3. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into squares approximately 4 inches per side.
  4. 4. Spoon the apple mixture onto one half of each pastry square while leaving space at the edges.
  5. 5. Fold each square over to form a triangle and seal the edges by pressing down with your fingers or using a fork.
  6. 6. Brush each turnover with the beaten egg for a golden finish. Place on a lined baking sheet.
  7. 7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
  8. 8. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.
