- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 tbsp melted butter
- ½ cup warm milk
Instructions
- 1. Prepare the Yeast Mixture: In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about five minutes until frothy.
- 2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
- 3. Combine Wet Ingredients: Add melted butter and warm milk to the yeast mixture. Mix well, then pour into the dry ingredients.
- 4. Knead the Dough: Knead on a floured surface for about eight minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 5. Let It Rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm area for about an hour or until doubled in size.
- 6. Shape & Bake: Punch down the dough and shape into small balls (about golf ball size). Arrange on a greased baking tray and let them rise again for another thirty minutes. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for fifteen minutes or until golden brown.
