- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Instructions
For the Meat Mixture:
- 1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- 2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey with the chopped onion until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- 3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked meat mixture with cream of mushroom soup and milk. Mix well until fully blended.
For Layering:
- 4. Spread half of the frozen tater tots evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- 5. Pour the meat mixture over the tater tots, then sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- 6. Add another layer of tater tots followed by the remaining cheese.
For Baking:
- 7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy, and cheese is bubbly.
- 8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving to allow it to set.
