Description

Elevate your next gathering with this Spicy Orange Honey Baked Ham, featuring a delightful blend of sweet and spicy flavors that will leave your guests craving more.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Ham:

  • 1 bone-in ham (57 pounds)
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 cup pure honey
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

For the Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat Your Oven: Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Line a roasting pan with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. 2. Prepare Your Ham: Place the ham in the roasting pan, cut side down. Score shallow diamond shapes into the surface of the ham.
  3. 3. Make Your Glaze: In a mixing bowl, whisk together orange juice, honey, brown sugar, cayenne pepper, ground ginger, and garlic powder until smooth.
  4. 4. Glaze It Up: Generously brush half of the glaze over the ham. Reserve the remaining glaze for basting.
  5. 5. Bake Away: Cover loosely with foil and bake for about two hours. Baste every thirty minutes with remaining glaze to achieve a sticky exterior.
  6. 6. Carve and Serve: Once cooked (internal temperature should reach at least 140°F/60°C), let the ham rest for fifteen minutes before carving. Drizzle with any leftover glaze before serving.
