- 4 medium-sized sweet potatoes
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- A pinch of salt
For the Topping:
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
For the Casserole:
- 1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Peel and chop sweet potatoes into chunks. Boil in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- 2. Drain sweet potatoes and mash until smooth. Mix in melted butter, maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- 3. Transfer the mixture into a greased 8×8-inch baking dish.
For the Topping:
- 4. In a separate bowl, combine chopped pecans, brown sugar, and melted butter. Sprinkle over the sweet potato mixture.
- 5. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and fragrant.
- 6. Let cool slightly before serving.
