  • 4 medium-sized sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • A pinch of salt

For the Topping:

  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

For the Casserole:

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Peel and chop sweet potatoes into chunks. Boil in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  2. 2. Drain sweet potatoes and mash until smooth. Mix in melted butter, maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  3. 3. Transfer the mixture into a greased 8×8-inch baking dish.

For the Topping:

  1. 4. In a separate bowl, combine chopped pecans, brown sugar, and melted butter. Sprinkle over the sweet potato mixture.
