Scale
For the Pasta:
- 8 oz linguine or spaghetti
- 1 tbsp salt (for boiling water)
For the Sauce:
- 1 lb fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Juice of 1 lemon (about 2 tbsp)
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- 1. Cook the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about half a cup of pasta water before draining.
- 2. Sauté Garlic
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter with olive oil. Once hot, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about one minute). Avoid burning the garlic.
- 3. Add Shrimp
- Add the fresh shrimp to the skillet and cook until they turn pink and opaque (approximately two minutes per side). If you prefer a spicy kick, sprinkle in red pepper flakes at this stage.
- 4. Combine Ingredients
- Squeeze in fresh lemon juice and add drained pasta along with reserved pasta water as needed to achieve desired sauciness. Stir well until everything is evenly coated.
- 5. Garnish and Serve
- Finish with chopped parsley and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if necessary. Serve immediately for a delightful meal!
