For the Pasta:

  • 8 oz penne or fusilli pasta

For the Sauce Mixture:

  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

For the Topping:

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or spinach for garnish

Instructions

For the Pasta:

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. 2. In a large pot, boil water and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

For the Sauce Mixture:

  1. 3. In a bowl, combine marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, salt, and pepper until smooth.

For Assembly:

  1. 4. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce mixture. Stir in half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
  2. 5. Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan on top, then add fresh basil or spinach.
  3. 6. Cover with aluminum foil (avoiding contact with cheese) and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
